Diane Rivard is an accredited teacher with 20 years of teaching experience at the elementary level. Recently retired from full time teaching, and employed as an on-call teacher in Victoria.

As a percussion teacher, Diane has engaged students of all ages in African and Cuban rhythms, song and dance. In particular, teaching via the oral tradition, where students learn to hear and play holistically, allows for the discipline of memorization, and the freedom of musical innovation and improvisation.

Hand-drumming is a wonderful way for young people to develop hand-eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills, and to promote brain development through rhythmic exercises. Not only that, it is just so much fun!

Cost is $25
